Fire-Damaged Building Restoration - San Mateo, California

This building is located on 25th Avenue west of El Camino Real in San Mateo, which commonly known by the residents as the "old downtown". A fire damaged the original roof structure of this building in March of 1998. In the effort to restore this building, Mr. Li served as the prime consultant for the project. 24" deep roof trusses were used to clear span 40 feet for half of the width of the building to provide better plan layout at the second floor. Seismic and accessibility upgrade was also included in the project and was funded by the insurance company.
